In South Dakota, in an Indian reservation, an old storyteller Indian asks his grandson Shane, who is in trouble owing money to some bad guys, to take his old pony and him to Albuquerque to the great powwow, an Indian meeting. If you like Native storytelling and a glimpse at modern life in indian country, have a look!

We rented this DVD and my two daughters wandered in from playing and sat down to watch, both entranced by the stories/legends being told. It was very moving, the cast in the stories were superb.

Admittedly I didn't get to pay as much attention to it as I normally would.. (I have a job at a video store, and have to keep PG-13 or lower movies on the TV).. I picked it randomly.. What I saw seemed disjointed.. some really great scenes, and then some thrown in the middle that seemed almost like a farce.. Overall a decent movie though..
