Don't let cheesy puns or rhyming couplets put you off what is otherwise an altogether more sophisticated approach to a macabre topic, fusing political commentary with grisly scenes of graphic, uninhibited violence.

An unusual yet effective approach on the current housing market's escalating prices and mortgages and surprisingly how things could be a lot worse than our current economic situation. All of this wrapped around a bloodbath of a horror film containing the most creative kills in years, a great performance by Josie Ho, and black comedy to boot. One of 2011's best.

Honestly, tortured and killing movie is not my type. Apart from those bloody scenes which I don't like, it is quite ironic movie which explained lots of weird situations in HK or even in Taiwan. Extremely high house pricing, annoying telemarketing sales, ridiculous stock market and etc. I think this movie is trying to criticize such situation via its own way. But the story still has some parts which are not logical and the ending is quite weak.

I have to say, "Dream Home" has some of the most creative, yet (mostly) realistic death scenes I've seen in awhile. Definitely not for the squeamish, this is a film exploring obsession, societal pressure, and discontent in about the darkest manner possible. That said, it does require some suspension of disbelief, but that's a small price to pay for this gritty, ultra-violent look into one woman's twisted psyche. My main complaint is that the buyer's remorse development at the end could have been explored a bit further, but that's a blemish I can put up with in what's otherwise a bloody good time.
