A surprisingly high-end slasher exploit, but there's a big batch of interesting ideas tucked inside this flick.

"Dream home" a peut-Ãªtre une solution Ã vous proposer, un brin salissante mais incontestablement efficace. Film Ã caractÃ¨re social habille en Slasher, cette production de Hong-Kong explore une problematique universelle sur un mode qui tient Ã la fois du militantisme implicite et de la contre-attaque cynique Ã l'encontre du systÃ¨me. Clair et precis en depit de sa structure eclatee, "Dream home" etonne egalement par la brutalite matinee d'humour noir de ses sequences de meurtre, qui ont plus en commun avec la folie furieuse d'un certain cinema japonais qu'avec les reserves morales propres aux productions chinoises.

A demented social satire about the problems on the Hong Kong housing situation. A woman finds her own way to deal with it, Lucio Fulci style. The 'slasher' part of the movie works fine (think Italian eighties-gore in crisp HD), the rest is an uneven, sloppy mess.

How far would you go to have your dream home? In this slasher cum dark comedy Josie Ho would go far more than you could imagine. It looks like Director Pang Ho-Cheung wants to show the world that Hong Kong cinema could go more violent than any Anthony Wong 90s movies. I'm not a fan of slasher movies and to me Dream Home is way overlong but the ending is pretty ironic; it's make me smile every time I recall it.
