wow what a movie...i have just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is an absolute classic movie...this has got a good cast of actors/actressess throguhout this movie...i think that this is great because its filmed in black n white...i think that the director of this Mystery & Suspense, Drama, Classics movie had done a really good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie...its got a good cast of actors/actressess throughout this movie..its really enjoyable throughout this movie..i think that vincent price is brilliant throughout this movie its really enjoyable n its a whole load of funn

Dragonwyck is a tame thriller that drags on way too long. In parts it is like Rebecca and Jane Eyre.

An adequate gothic romance, with just a dash of horror/suspense. I loved the set design, photography, music and the performances. This is one of Vincent Price's better roles. Walter Houston is always amazing, even though I dislike his overly-religious character in this outing. I enjoyed the fact that the movie openly thrust an atheist man and a godly woman together and let their differences boil to the surface. Of course, the atheist ends up being a bad guy, though. The reason this movie doesn't rank better than 'adequate' is that it is very predictable. If it weren't for the aesthetics or performances, the last half of the movie might have been insufferably paint-by-numbers. Still, not a bad little matinee.
