Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966)

Whilst vacationing in the Carpathian Mountain, two couples stumble across the remains of Count Dracula's castle. The Count's trusted servant kills one of the men, suspending the body over the Count's ashes so that the blood drips from the corpse and saturates the blackened remains. The ritual is completed, the Count revived and his attentions focus on the dead man's wife who is to become his partner; devoted to an existence of depravity and evil.

Dracula rips through the necks of my people with Terence Fisher's crazy atmospheric spooky directing and the trickle of blood into Dracula's Tomb to resurrect him just so he can continue on with his bloodlust is uncanny.

My first Dracula movie ever. Was kinda squeamish about trying it, but it was actually very intriguing. I'm not the biggest fan of vampire movies, but I thought certain parts of this one were very good. Like when the man says "All the garlic in the world wouldn't keep that out." FINALLY!!! Someone admits that garlic is pointless!!!! YES!!!

It's a very strange route 'Dracula - Prince of Darkness' takes because instead of featuring the usual gentleman vampire it features a blood-thirsty killing-machine. Still Terrence Fisher delivers the usual amount of brains and scares to cover up any loose ends.

Highly recommended for you
