Donovan's Brain (1953)

A scientist takes the brain of dead man and revives it via electrodes as it lays suspended in a tank of liquid. Soon, the brain grows to possess enormous psychic powers and inflicts its personality upon the doctor who saved it, creating a "Jekyll and Hyde" paradigm.

Definitely a bit hokey, but still quite interesting. Good cast, except for Nancy Davis Reagan, the bitch. The plot is clever. Rather dated, but I am sure it was quite powerful in 1953.

I really enjoyed this film. It is the perfect 1950s sci fi feature. Frankly, it's everything you would expect. The concept is far fetched (1. A brain being able to survive outside of the body, and 2. the living brain being able to control other people remotely.) One huge point of interest in this film (and the reason I watched it in the first place) is the presence of Nancy Davis. A woman who would go on to become better known as Nancy Reagan, first lady of the united states. Frankly, when you watch the film it's kind of funny thinking about that.
