Any movie with a premise like Devil Fish is knowingly and pointedly setting itself up for comparison against Jaws. And let's just say that if it wasn't for the MST3K treatment, there is no way in hell I would've lasted past the first ten minutes. Italian filmmaking at it's greatest.

This may be the worst-edited film I've ever seen. It's so bad that the first thirty minutes seems like four different movies. The "devil fish" looks like a squid with a giant toothy mouth (or, like one of the 'bots puts it on MST3K, "a shark with tentacles"). The same shots of the devil fish are used approximately thirty times each.

"Just because you CAN edit, doesn't mean you SHOULD..." is the best way to describe the incomprehensible editing of this film. Yup, a textbook example of what NOT to do in movies, and this is besides the bad acting and bad special effects with the monster. Bava's father was one of the masters of horror films, but son Lamberto just doesn't cut it...
