DIY punk rock horror starring, produced, directed and written by the Soska sisters. Energetic, depraved and ridiculous - as you'd expect from the rather delightful Twisted Twins.

after great brother collaborations (pang, coen,) we have a promising sister collaboration. The movie is very low budget and still rough around the edges. They don't have the talent of the coen brothers to produce great shots but this movie moves along at a good speed. It gets absurd at times and the characters that turn up hints at some adoration to David Lynch's movies. Dialogue has some hal hartley in it. They have yet to make it there own but there is plenty of interest in their capabilities and if it is well nurtured we will be enjoying their movies for years to come

Bizarre, bold and brilliant home-made masterpiece that displays the filmmakers' twisted sense of humor. A textbook exercise in how to make a witty and inventive film with no money. Amid the crazy proceedings are riveting witty performances, especially between Jen Soska and C.J. Wallis. Loads of fun and highly recommended.

While it's definitely not good, Dead Hooker In A Trunk is still somewhat endearing. It feels like a good student film, and with a budget of only two and a half grand, that's more than understandable. I'm amazed that the movie was even as good as it was. But that's not saying a whole lot. And though I already knew going in that the Soska sisters stepped there game up moving forward, judging Dead Hooker solely on its own merits, it's a poorly-acted, grainy, hard to sit through, nonsense bit-piece that is watchable purely for the couple of chuckles it features. I don't regret having watched it, for sure, but I can't imagine I'll be returning to the movie for a second go around either.
