Totally worth it for the Chinese butcher shop scene

Friggin' awesome. This would have made a decent movie for teens if it weren't Rated R, because most of Piscipo's puns and remarks would only really be funny to the young and young at heart. Still, if you want a really silly action/horror/comedy that is self aware of its absurdity, you could do a lot worse. A lot better than I had feared.

A disappointment in terms of guilty pleasures and overall a poor movie, but some set pieces save it from being a clunker. Treat Williams is lame in his role. He doesn't ham it up like he did in the 90's, but my theory is that his career was still intact when this was made and he wanted to play it straight. Joe Piscopo is simply atrocious. Every single line he has is a one-liner, and not once did I laugh. He was like Ronny Cedeno with runners in scoring position with two outs. Just a terrible 0-fer. There's a scene where Treat is attacked by a liver and Joe is attacked by a headless cow. These parts keep the movie from being a colossal failure and make it just a regular failure.

I actually enjoyed this film from Mark Goldblatt. There was a good deal of overacting, especially from Joe Piscopo. The film is a lot of fun. I especially loved the ending. For as much fun the film is, it's not the highest quality. I do recommend it if you're into movies that are kinda bad but are still very entertaining. 3/5 stars. (6/15/10)
