It is an efficiently crafted, small-scale film with an interesting premise, although it sometimes feels like an atmospheric short that has been stretched out.

Dark Summer starts with the best of intentions, establishing a strong cyber-thriller background, but a sleepy ghost story sullies what intrigue director Paul Solet initially builds.

very slow and boring no scares waste of time

Awful, awful horror movie. There were no scary moments, the only good parts were the Skype call and the ending. Don't bother with this. If you want a good horror movie, watch Creep. It's on Netflix and iTunes.

Teen house-arrest thriller Dark Summer gets out ahead of any ripping-off-“Disturbia” talk with an early Shia LaBeouf joke. But its sleepy, hallucinogenic aesthetic is an entirely different — and rather less engaging — style, anyway.
