I can't really speak for the historical accuracy (or lack thereof) in this film... I will say that Hollywood probably took some liberties with the facts in order to shape this otherwise completely entertaining western. It's a great film all on it's own, but the ever fantastic Robert Shaw is the real reason to watch! I liked it!

Nice old school movie. Trying to make Custer out to be a hero instead of the fuck wit he really was.

Good production standards let down by some amateur factual errors. Not one of Robert's stronger performances either, as he looks like he would rather be elsewhere. He still gives it a noble shot though.

Sprawling, impressively shot but extremely over long, by about an hour, history revision. Shaw is good in the lead.

It's an ambitious and occasionally stylish work, expertly crafted but let down by a script which doesn't quite decide what angle to take on its controversial protagonist.
