Interesting documentary based on views by an insider who feels like an outsider.

Aside from some resonant hints that all is not as it seems, the movie leaves it to you to decide where the truths begin and ends. You'll be untangling Dresnok's knotty reality long after you leave the theater.

So fascinating that Crossing the Line is riveting.

Dan Gordon wraps up his unintentional North Korea trilogy with it's most intriguing character. James Dresnok comes across as a bit of a likable jerk. He minces no words about having grown up unhappily in a low-income home, he has no end of praise for how the North Korean government has treated him yet there is a tinge of untrustworthiness about him. In any case, Gordon makes a great effort to treat him and his adopted country objectively. Gordon's increased freedom in showing the so-called 'Hermit Kingdom's' dark side is also apparent, able to touch upon Charles Jenkin's less-than-favorable outlook on its human rights record as well as the 'Arduous March' of the famine in the early 90s. In all, a hard to find yet priceless gem.

Intriguing weird story of US Army defectors and life in North Korea.
