A disturbingly beautiful film. That deals with the desires and struggles of being closed off from the rest of the world. And how desire can turn into obsession. Eva Green gives a stunning performance, along side Juno Temple and Maria Valverde.

a young cast help this to be very watchable. juno temple as a spoilt brat, getting jealous of spanish girl played by maria valverde, andin the middle teacher played by eva green,having afections for everyone,a great story of jealousy and fitting in, with a georgous looking 30s england.

Very slow to start, but definitely worth sticking with. I was really enthralled by this once it become apparent that the beautiful Miss G (Eva Green) was a little mentally unbalanced. I actually had sympathy for her character right up until the very last bit. After that point it became a little hard to excuse her. This is beautifully filmed and it's interesting that someone has compared this to Heavenly Creatures, because that's exactly what it reminded me of, though obviously different, not a rip off in any way. The actresses who play the school girls are a little unremarkable, but it further marks the glamour of Mss G and, to a lesser extent, Fiamma (Maria Valverde), the student who eventually pushes Miss G's fragile sanity over the edge. I think it was a smart move to make the other girls quite ordinary and unmemorable. Compelling and interesting movie. Not sure if it would be one all would enjoy, but certainly worth a look.

I loved the atmosphere and the setting of this movie. The mood created by the cinematography was incredibly eerie and provided the perfect backdrop for the story, which was thrilling at times, yet slightly ambiguous, especially in the conclusion. Very good movie.
