Cops & Robbersons (1994)

When the police discover that a mob hitman has moved in next door to the Robbersons, they set up a stakeout in the Robbersons' home. Hard-nosed, tough-as-nails Jake Stone and his young partner Tony Moore are assigned to the stakeout, but now it is a question of whether Jake can last long enough to capture the bad guys. The Robbersons want to help, and by doing so, drive Jake crazy.

I really didn't like this movie, it was just dumb.

It's really sad that this is such a bad movie. The cast is awesome, and it's directed by one of my favorites of all time, Michael Richie. But nothing works. Chevy is at his worst, and Jack Palance just sort of wobbles around on old knees. There is not a single laugh in the whole movie.

Jack Palance was hilarious. Chase not so much. Not a good comedic pairing. They cancel each other out, like they do this film.

Trapped in a sitcom sensibility, the film never makes the vital connection with the audience that's necessary to spawn a hit.

Chevy is not acting well in this at all (it's the film that led me to believe that he is, in fact, never acting well in anything he does). However, it still manages to be funny and quite quotable at parts.
