Excellent, yet disturbingly thrilling and realistic.

There's a reason this movie was so popular. Its the movie industry trying to capitalize on the H1N1 epidemic that happened not too long before production and release of this movie. It's not until the end of the movie that we see why Contagion happens but its a real wake up call on how we can really get sick and why washing your hands is very important!

Educational, entertaining, emotional, and VERY realistic. This film not only gives us what we want in terms of a viral infection film, but also gives us an in depth perspective on just how a virus works and explains both the politics and even the science. This film is perfect for satisfying the typical audience and also the nerds who get angry and nitpick the unscientific points. This film is complex, in depth, and is science blended with thrilling entertainment and even makes you realize just how important it is to stay clean. I would recommend this over any film about a viral infection.

Steven Soderbergh is a director who's known for making great thrillers with large casts. Contagion has a very large cast: Gwyneth Paltrow, Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Laurence Fishburne, Bryan Cranston, Marion Cotillard, John Hawkes, Jennifer Ehle and Elliott Gould, who are all brilliant, and the story keeps you guessing until the very end. I was never bored for a second. 10/10.
