An 80s version of a 50s B-movie from Roger Corman! It doesn't fail to in its promise to show sea monsters terrorizing a small town and raping the women, but it does fail in the story department. If it weren't for the gore and nudity this movie would be completely boring, and even with those intact it's not a great movie. Overall it's an okay movie, not horrible but not good either.

An unintentionally hilarious fusing of mutated salmon and full frontal nudity

Sure, it's silly and exploitative, but it's also a hoot to watch, particularly for gorehounds, Corman fans and cult enthusiasts.

I can't say that I have much bad OR good to say about Humanoids From the Deep. If you want to look at it with critical eyes in the cold light of day then it's a pretty forgetful affair. However, if you're a B movie fan, in particular a fan of rubber suit monsters, then the movie will probably be for you. I actually like the look of the monsters and how disgusting their faces are. I also like it that they're mainly out to rape human females and reproduce. I also also like Vic Morrow being such an overt bad guy. The movie has a lot going for it, but it fails to really reach the epicness of bad charm like a lot of other Corman productions. If I had to sum it up in three films, I'd pick Jaws, The Creature From the Black Lagoon and Alien (even though Corman basically ripped off Alien more overtly with Galaxy of Terror a year later). The plot isn't complex, the acting is terrible, the story is questionable... well, most things are questionable. It's not great, but it's good for at least one late night watch.

A classic! Creatures not seen since the Sci-Fi films of the 50's return in this trashfest where a seaside town is attacked by salmon people!!! Although there were some good scenes such as the town fair mayhem scene and some unlucky girls getting uh, impregnated by some lucky fish people, the only scenes worth sticking around for were Miss Salmon running around topless and screaming and the "Alien"-inspired birth ending. Still, it's comforting to know that this sleazefest was semi-directed by a WOMAN!!!
