The script is so weak that it barely has a pulse. These two talented actresses still couldn't manage to breathe life into it. I cannot imagine this movie getting made before the days of home box office and netflix.

This movie will probably stay with me for a while. Heather Graham was excellent and really made me feel for her character. I was dreading that the movie was going to turn into a predictable girl gone crazy movie but luckily this film had more depth. One of the most disturbing things about the film is the cards that Amy is dealt in her life. Hardcore horror fans may not appreciate the slow paced drama but at the same time drama lovers may not appreciate the macabre aspect of the film. The twist in the climax doesn't surprise, however when this is revealed in a certain scene, it was stylishly done. Overall this film has a very noir atmosphere, and is worth a watch if that is your thing!

Heather Graham and Carrie Anne Moss are well cast, and the film is stylishly directed which gave it a fun campy feel.

At first, I was thinking this was going to be a dud. Thankfully, this movie went from a typical slasher-esque feel to a bizarre thriller with food being used as the weapon. Not in a violent way, mind you, but in a sly, yet disturbing way. I also never would have thought that a seductive cook could be so twisted and evil. The acting was pretty good. The truth is that if Heather Graham wasn't cast as the lead, everything would have suffered. She was able to bring the charm of a somewhat 1950's-esque era housewife and completely turn the type on its head. While it is hard to define what this movie was trying to say, the final moments are more or less worth it. Honestly, I don't think I will look at food the same way again. Definitely worth the rent.

Compulsion is a movie about a crazy lady that is obessed to the point of murder over her cooking ability and if people love her cooking she is accepted etc... This is a strange dark mystery drama/comedy. Do i suggest this movie at all not in the slightest. A lonely existence for Heather Grahams character and Carrie-Anne Moss plays a anorexic failed actress that had been abused by a casting director when she was a child actor and has never got to terms with this fact. I find the movie to be warped and just wacko to be honest. I don't recommend it to any one. not suitable for the kiddies.
