Whitley Strieber the guy who "really" got nabbed by aliens, kinda the model for abductions nowadays. This movie scared the living crap out of me as a kid.

A confusingly comic adaptation of a book that was undoubtedly confusingly comic (I'd never read it), I watched this film as research for a UFO class only to be confounded by the insanely erratic narrative and piss-poor special effects.

This movie is a wacky little trip, but Christopher Walken's performance was, by far, the hardest thing for me to accept. The aliens are kinda creepy until you start seeing them more, and then it just gets completely batshit looney tunes. All this, and the fact that It's riddled with plot holes and inconsistencies, make for a screwy cult classic.
