You know, this is actually a pretty decent film. I can't say I super enjoyed it, but it's actually all around a good movie. Of course it's a horror based around killer clowns so it's bound to be a little silly at parts and there's for sure lapses in logic, but despite itself....well it's good. Who'd've thunk it. I also know that if I had seen this at a younger age, it would have scared the poop out of me.

The fact that the director is a pederass is a little more frightening than the actual movie. Maybe it's just the nostalgia but this is a decent horror film. It's more angled at a PG audience in my opinion.

Another over-looked quality horror film that features a boy with a fear of clowns facing three psychos dressed as clowns who break into his house. I loved every minute of it.

Victor Salva's Clownhouse isn't as bad as one would expect, yes its a movie about lunatics terrorizing young kinds in clown suits, but for being a movie in such a bad genre it actually has a good atmosphere going for it, far better than Killjoy or The Clown at Midnight. The reason the film is well known is because the youngest boy in the film was molested by the director Victor Salva, the boys family have made sure this movie is kept out of stores, so finding a dvd isn't an easy task. Nothing in the film is done terribly, besides maybe the sound mixing and some of the young actors are a bit off at time. its an enjoyable movie, nothing great, but worth a watch if you're one of those clown people or something.

Favourite movie of all time! Director Salva understands seeing a clown creeping around in the dark is more scary than watching an axe fly into someone's face. A real triumph with plenty of suspense, intensity and a creepy foreboding atmosphere. Forget about what went on behind the scenes, it really doesn't hinder what the film achieves. Besides, I don't hear anybody dissing Roman Polanski - he's a child rapist. Sam Rockwell is the man by the way. I knew he would go on to have a big career after this. It's a very natural performance.
