My mom bought had this DVD when I was in high school. I got bored one day and watched this movie and couldn't stop watching it. I would have loved to been able to grow up in the 70's. Cleopatra Jones was a very sexy woman to me, she had long sexy legs, she was a strong black woman of authority, and she could definitely hold her own. Who doesn't want a woman like that?.....

Dobson, starring as the titular narc and overencumbered clotheshorse, has some talent and obviously looks the part, but lacks the charisma and ferocity of Pam Grier. As for the movie as a whole, while its plot is nothing extraordinary, it has some terrific dialogue and a number of memorably colourful characters, standouts being Antonio Fargas as Doodlebug and, of course, Shelley Winters as Mommy. Great music. Relatively high production values. Decent (but pretty much bloodless) action, though the big car chase is not very well staged. But I do love the Stingray, and those are some fine magnesium wheels.

Damn, Melvin! You do not want to mess with this mama! For Cleopatra Jones is smart, tough, and barely ever uses one-liners. This time, it's a showdown against Shelley Winters as a large, white lesbian who controls the drugs, streets, and the cops. Oh lord! Who will spare people in half way homes from getting planted with heroine? Take a wild guess. Sure, it's as cheesy as cheesy comes, everyone says "Right on!" at least once, and the dialogue is bad. But if you can't dig this, son, you can't dig nothin'. "To protect and serve...sheeeeeit."

An entertaining film to watch on Sunday when having a hangover! Lots of bad acting, cheesy dialogue and poor kung fu = a good blaxbloitation flick. Also the car chase scene was tops!

With a tagline that exclaims âShe 6 feet 2â? of dynamiteâ¦and the hottest super agent ever!â? Cleopatra Jones is a campy foray into the blaxploitation genre (at times, it almost seems like youâ(TM)re watching a 70â(TM)s sitcom), and one that seems to be more inspired by James Bond movies than by itâ(TM)s super pimp peers. Jones carries an array of gadgets: there's her Corvette, complete with a hidden arsenal in the door; her karate; her costumes, and especially her embossed federal ID card, which indicates she's working for the President himself. The main bad guys, by the way, are a gang of white drug pushers led Shelly Winters who plays a lesbian Ma Barker-type character named âMommy.â? The film cruises along with a certain low-brow gusto but, ultimately, is just plain silly and quite forgettable.
