I'm not quite sure what I saw, or it was too obvious. I would have liked to see a bit more technicolor shots. And what happened to the White Christmas cover that was put out as a promo song for this?? Very different than what I was expecting from the early screen shots, etc. Will watch again eventually. The sound effects and music was simply wonderful.

Who the hell did Elijah Wood play? Is that a typo?? I love The Flaming Lips but I'm sorry guys...where's the plot? I'm serious, there is actually no plot. Some stuff happens (I guess) and some people are going crazy. The dialogue is downright painful at times, and they only use like three of the songs from the soundtrack, and loop them over and over again. Pick this one up, but only because it comes with the soundtrack on cd. Or is it vice versa? One more thing...what is with all those vaginas???

Captures elements of 2001, Eraserhead, and Holy Mountain. I was a smidgen disappointed at the scanty amount of psychedelic imagery. But what was there was intense and brilliant. And there was plenty of other styles of absurdism. The beginning experience was my favorite part. The music & sound was wonderfully atmospheric and bizarre, very Zaireeka. Watch with the volume on HIGH.

It really has that cheesy 50s-60s sci-fi film feel, with all the purposefully cheap sets, and (possibly purposeful) bad acting. You also have that snail's pace that is common of the sub-genre, but within the slow movement you actually have some serious mood being built. The film is shrouded in a heavy, creepy, and dreamlike feel that really sucks you in. It's no Kubrick, but it's still one heck of an experiment.
