This one worked much better than "The Local Stigmatic" mainly because of Jerry Orbach who basically slapped Al around for 100 minutes!

slow at first and the flashbacks weren't that well inserted

Probably something that should be seen more than once if you don't initially enjoy it. Unfortunately Jerry Orbach really takes away from Pacino's performance. His dialogue was great but his presence wasn't the right fit for the character. Great story though. And anyone studying for the SATs would do well to pay attention to the brilliant use of the English language in the apartment scenes.

A New York story born out of the acclaimed Actors Studio, Chinese Coffee is a tragic, at times comedic drama that focuses on the themes of trust, betrayal and compromise found in friendships.
