Cartel Land (2015)

In the Mexican state of Michoacán, Dr. Jose Mireles, a small-town physician known as "El Doctor," shepherds a citizen uprising against the Knights Templar, the violent drug cartel that has wreaked havoc on the region for years. Meanwhile, in Arizona's Altar Valley—a narrow, 52-mile-long desert corridor known as Cocaine Alley—Tim "Nailer" Foley, an American veteran, heads a small paramilitary group called Arizona Border Recon, whose goal is to halt Mexico's drug wars from seeping across our border.

a documentary about a certain Dr. Who tried to form a vigilant group against the Cartel in Mexico in his city and how he was found with resistance from all sides.

An insightful, challenging, and timely documentary that perhaps could have benefitted from expanding its already fairly wide scope.

Terrifying insight into one of Mexico's lawless rural provinces. The complex and intractable problems highlight the terrible burden carried by ordinary people in the unwinnable and senseless "war on drugs". Matthew Heineman?s cinematic and unflinching portrayal of vigilantes illustrates the corruptive nature of money and power in a culture where brutality knows no bounds.

This is an eye opening documentary which follows groups of vigilante's who are so fed up with Mexican drug cartels they have decided to do something about it. The problem is that the lines are blurred as to who the criminals are and on what side they are on. Watching this film you cant hep but think Mexico is Damed. There seems to be no order and the country is entirely corrupt. If i was a Mexican it would totally depress me. There are some very gruesome scenes of what happened to some of the Cartel members and their victims and it's not for the faint hearted but don't let that put you off what is a fascinating look into another world.
