"I was at the Carl(a) New York premiere at the Ziegfeld. This movie portrays in such a raw emotional way the challenges and pressures trans people deal with on a daily basis and yet was very hopeful at the same time. Really eye opening and highly recommend it!"

This was a beautiful and powerful film that captured the intimate and challenging journey it is to fit into your own skin, whatever that skin may look like. This left the audience inspired, and sparked ongoing discussions about acceptance, hope, and love.

Carl(a) is a movie that stays with you for days after you see it. Her story provides a real world perspective (as opposed to reality tv) of the challenges faced by transgender individuals. Laverne Cox and Joslyn DeFreece both give really strong performances.

Lee M 11 Jul 2016

A prescient film about the complications of transgendered transitions.

I would love to see this movie. A hot topic right now around the world.
