Wonderful film and very touching about acceptance and being comfortable with ones self, and society . I liked the roles played by Carl (a) and her grandpa the most. I also liked the conversation from the audience after the movie...

independent filming at its best! Not only is the theme of this movie very timely, but at the end of the day Carl(a) depicts a great love story, not only between two people but also the love of one's self. I hope this film gets the support it deserves.

This was a beautiful and powerful film that captured the intimate and challenging journey it is to fit into your own skin, whatever that skin may look like. This left the audience inspired, and sparked ongoing discussions about acceptance, hope, and love.

Stories like Carla's deserve to be told & seen! In a world that is still struggling with acceptance of others who lead lifestyles and have values different from one's own, it's heartbreaking to see that there are still those that additionally have to work hard to accept their own selves, too. The movie Carl(a) shares with us the true daily outward struggle that Carla goes through with family, with friends, with strangers - but one of the most powerful scenes of this movie really confronts Carla to think about who she really is/what defines her, ultimately proving that her own definition of herself is the hardest of all to come to terms with. Powerful story by the writers/director.
