I honestly thought Captain Underpants would suck. I thought it was a very stupid idea. But after watching this movie, I laughed my ass off. Pretty great, if you ask me.

Captain Underpants’ charm lies in its lighthearted and lightly scatological silliness, so it’s a shame that the movie sometimes overstuffs itself.

Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie knows exactly how to convert the widely beloved children's series into a well written film. Although there are some moments that seem like filler, this movie contains constant humor that's actually much more clever than you'd think, likable characters both protagonists and antagonists, and animation that's faithful to its predecessor.
