During World War II, a brave, patriotic American Soldier undergoes experiments to become a new supersoldier, "Captain America". Racing to Germany to sabotage the rockets of Nazi baddie "Red Skull", Captain America winds up frozen until the 1990s. He reawakens to find that the Red Skull has changed identities and is now planning to kidnap the President of the United States.

Director Albert Pyun has done it again! From comic to screen, Captain America is coming at you! You don't have to be an American to enjoy this captain! With his flying shield and big A, he's a colourful character that can teach your kid the right and wrong ways to deal with life's problems. Some over the top violence will make you want to watch the movie with your kids to put things in context: he's fighting for the American way! Ahead of its time in special effects, great costumes, and a high powered plot, this movie is pitch perfect for young kids who love comic books. And what kid doesn't?! Spider-who? Bravo!

costume looked good, acting not bad, story well could have been better. They really need to make a big budget on this one, so perhaps we will see one done in the future.

I'll admit, I never heard of Captain America until I saw the teaser for the new version. Since then I've read some of the original comics and watched this movie. I really like what Cap stands for, but clearly the budget and the effects were just not there for this film. Matt Salinger makes a fairly memorable Steve Rogers, one you can pity when he comes back to the modern time and everything is different. Some of it, though, is unforgivable. I grew up with the Frisbee and know them on sight. Cap's shield is a Frisbee. His suit practically screams "I'm a moving target!". And his villain, well, Red Skull is interesting but the background story for him was pretty darn unbelievable. If believability is what you were looking for. Which I wasn't. It's an interesting watch and gives you a good perspective on a pretty low-key superhero. It just isn't the best thing you'll ever see, that's all.
