A joyful musical comedy about the machinations of love and friendship.

As this is a black and white film you have to accept the title for what it says, of course it represents more than just the colour of the water - this is an uplifting tale of discovery. The story itself is not overly interesting, but the style certainly is. At times this is a silent film, at other points it is a musical, all underpinning the romance which perhaps sadly has a too idealistic conclusion.
