Burnt Money (2000)

Set in Argentina in 1965, the story follows the tumultuous relationship between two men who became lovers and ultimately ruthless bank robbers in a notoriously famous footnote in the annals of crime history. After a large-scale hold-up that turns bloody, the two men must flee. It is not long before the police are surrounding the building they are in and they must confront their demons to survive.

Excelente producciÃ³n argentina, una historia fuerte y sÃ³lida, con muy buenas actuaciones de estos ya famosos del cine en espaÃ±ol. Del 2000 y hasta ahora la veo yo :-( remal.

LETTERBOX. A pesar de cuánto aprecio que exista una película en la que Leo Sbaraglia (buen casting) se encuere y ame a Eduardo Noriega (mal casting), esta peli no convence del todo. Es erótica, atisba a trabajar bien la psicología de sus personajes (sobre todo de El Nene) y, por un segmento, retrata bien la situación de enclaustramiento en que estos se encuentran... Pero, tal cual se presentan, la volatilidad y torpeza de estos tipos no los hace creíbles como criminales profesionales (sí, ok, está basada en una historia real)... y el final es sencillamente desastroso. / Despite my great appreciation for a movie in which Leo Sbaraglia (good casting) appears butt-naked and also loves Eduardo Noriega (bad casting), this movie is not very convincing. It is erotic, gets near exploring well the psychology of its characters (especially El Nene) and, for a while, presents well their sense of entrapment. But, as portrayed, their volatility and clumsiness makes them not very believable professional criminals (ok, yes, it is based on a true story), and the ending is plain disastrous.

Well worth the wait, as it took me a while to find this movie. It has the thrills and suspense of a heist movie, with the guns and even explosions of an action flick, and then the erotic plot development I oh-so loved of say, American Beauty.
