As an American civilian truck driver working in Iraq, Paul Conroy's convoy is attacked by a group of Iraqi insurgents. Some time later, Paul awakes in a coffin with only a lighter, a cell phone, and his ever-growing anxiety. Faced with a dwindling oxygen supply and a dying battery, he must fight panic, despair, and delirium as he races against time to escape the claustrophobic death trap.

The best part of the movie is the end which is suprising and dramatic. But the biggest problem about this movie is in the first 20-30 minuites is about him just freaking out which annoyed me. Also there are parts that have nothing to do with the storyline like when the snake came in. Those are the two things that killed this movie but other than that a very original movie.

This movie got the must simple plot ever, Still when you sit there with him alone in a box, seeing him grab for any opportunity to survive. You can't help but feel with him whenever he hopes and then the hope gets crunched time and time again. When the movie finally is over you are so glad you are sitting in a sofa and not in the box. The movie keeps you wondering if he will make it or not until the end. Ryan Reynolds does a wonderful job in this move.

For me this is a movie of 2nds. This is the second movie about Iraq that is really, really good. The first & only other being The Hurt Locker. And this is the second movie with Ryan Reynolds that didn't suck. The first being Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.

It's been a long time since I have given a movie a perfect 5-star score. "Buried" without a doubt deserves it. As the credits rolled, I simply exhaled as I had been holding my breath for what seemed like the last 5 minutes of this very intense, nerve-wracking drama. I have often liked Reynold's performances in other films. This time around he shined as he had an excellent, original script to work with. What makes this movie brilliant is that it's all told from the inside of the coffin/box, so you're in for an hour and a half of an intense claustrophobic film experience like you've never imagined. I give this film props for its originality, great acting, script, its social commentary (on sensitivity, cruelty, government bureaucracy, terrorism) and for all the drama and the emotions. Just don't forget to breathe.
