Bugsy (1991)

New York gangster Ben 'Bugsy' Siegel takes a brief business trip to Los Angeles. A sharp-dressing womanizer with a foul temper, Siegel doesn't hesitate to kill or maim anyone crossing him. In L.A. the life, the movies, and most of all strong-willed Virginia Hill detain him while his family wait back home. Then a trip to a run-down gambling joint at a spot in the desert known as Las Vegas gives him his big idea.

one of my top 20's. The performance is perfect. I love the script and also directing. Bugsy, himself is one my favourite characters too! The sequence where Bugsy is reading newspaper in his house at the dinner table is one of the best scenes ever made in cinema history! I admire Warren Beatty after watching this film, and I don't know why, but he reminds me of "Nader Azad" somehow!

Levinson was never one for narrative tightness. As with much of his previous work, Bugsy is a maze of episodes, a sprawling excuse for engaging human banter. Although the truth will inevitably catch up with Beatty -- especially concerning that expensive nightclub -- it's not entirely clear what the movie's about. But that's the kind of detail Beatty's Siegel wouldn't even worry about. Neither should you.

In my opinion, this movie is worth watching if only for the scene where Bugsy asks Virginia, "Got a light?", and she replies, "The way you were looking at me, I thought you were going to ask for something more interesting." Warren and Annette fell hard for each other during the filming of this movie, a fact that's evident in every scene they share.
