I think that there are a lot of people who are fans of the book and were just waiting to tear this movie down. Most of Vonnegut's books don't seem like the kind that could be translated to screen very well, but Rudolph did a pretty okay job on this. It's not great, but it's enjoyable. The casting was spot-on for every character, and though the ending differs from the book, it's insane to expect the movie to mirror the novel word-for-word, scene-for-scene. I was pleased with the film.

This is where I say that the book is way better than the movie. The movie version is somewhat of a train wreck but is a little interesting.

What a colossal waste of time! I really liked Bunny, but that isn't nearly enough to save this disaster. Maybe good for a couple of grins here and there, but overall it's boring, stupid, and poorly done. How they managed to pull together some of the more popular actors to be in this film is something that's just beyond me. I'd skip out on this one if you've been fortunate enough to not see it yet.

This starry ensemble dazzles, but the film never comes fully alive until its climactic 20 minutes, which are deeply moving.
