One of my favorite Seijun Suzuki films. It is hard to describe, but the concept of the No. 3, No. 2, and No. 1 Killers makes this an interesting movie.

Has all the makings of an UNDERGROUND cult classic. Stylish, mysterious, mashup of genres, entwined storyline. Brilliant movie, brilliant soundtrack, very ambient. Watch when stoned!

Jazzy 60's Yakuza movie, filmed in the style of Godard or Bresson. The style is hip and the plot is not restricted by time or spatial regulations. An artsy gangster film on par with Tokyo Drifter.

No 1 killer movie. Rice fetishes, pesky butterflies and deadly plumbing. Seijun is still kicking out films and he's 84. See also - Youth of the Beast / Gate of Flesh / Tokyo Drifter - actually, anything he has ever done will suffice.

My first Suzuki Seijun. Story is standard film noir but I'm captivated nonetheless due to Seijun's stylistic direction, beautiful jazz soundtrack, memorable gun fights and deaths.
