I saw this film at an advance screening a few weeks ago, and was pleasantly surprised! The craftsmanship of the movie was excellent, plus I was moved by the story and accompanying characters. Whether you are a person of faith, or not, the questions the main character Don struggles with in the movie are ones that will resonate with many people - forgiving those who have hurt you, running from your past, questioning who you are, and who God may or may not be. As someone who's in the film industry, I love the story of how Blue Like Jazz almost didn't make it, but was then rescued by a monumental Kickstarter campaign. The effort was worth it, as Blue Like Jazz is a well-crafted, inspiring film that poetically raises questions that are on the minds of many. To use words from the book, "Sometimes you have to watch somebody love something before you can love it yourself." I, for one, love this movie, and I encourage you to bring your friends to see it on opening weekend - April 13th!

I saw a prescreening of this film and was blown away! its honest, real, and wonderful! truly refreshing to see a movie about christianity that portrays life as it truly is and doesn't sugar coat anything!

The journey Of self discovery that don embarks on as he attempts to leave God behind is very telling of so many today. What we do to deal with all the pain that this life brings our way is beautifully presented in this film. The film is filled with moments of awkwardness laughter and brings me to a place of true reality! I can see myself in the life of Don unlike many Hollywood movies of our day.

One of the most daring movies about faith that I have ever seen. Artistically sound, beautifully filmed, with a script that is sharp and witty. BLJ pulls off the rare feat of making a movie about faith that is universal to the human experience. Highly recommended.
