A terrible war has ravaged the land, and now, fuelled by the blood of numerous fallen warriors the Yoma, demons from hell, emerge once more. A skilled ninja seeks to end the bloodshed these demons inflict upon humanity, but to do this he must fight against his undead former best friend and fellow ninja who was killed in battle and has been resurrected to serve the Yoma.

"Curse of the Yoma" is the tale of a ninja who undertakes a quest to slay a childhood friend gone bad. Along the way, he has a number of inexplicable encounters, including one that, near as I can tell, is an odd, unexplained time-warp. The animation is nice, and there are some interesting plot elements, but those plot elements are just floating out there with no real thread to tie them together. I think someone forgot that even a cartoon needs a script. If you want a viewing experience that makes you think (even if thinking involves going 'Huh? Did I miss something?') then I suppose 'Yoma' might be worth checking out. Otherwise, I think your time and money can be better spent elsewhere.

Decent supernatural ninja saga from the 80's. Low quality animation, but some good gore and a cool story.
