Blood Beach (1980)

Something or someone is attacking people one by one on the beach. Some of them are mutilated, but most of them are sucked into the sand, disappearing without a trace. What is the creature responsible? Where does it live, and where did it come from? And is there any chance of it reproducing? Meanwhile, David Huffman and Mariana Hill are once-almost-married old friends, reunited over the death of her mother on the beach, and searching for clues in the abandoned buildings where they used to play when they were young.

While 1981 is most noted for the abundance of slashers coming out, there were some monster flicks popping up here and there. One of these is Blood Beach. While most people don't like it because of its extensive scenes of talking, some of the conversations are amusing. The kill scenes are great, and the reveal of the monster at the end is also great, with some awesome FX. The ending is open for a sequel, but, if you ask me, its better off without one.

Once upon a time in 1980 every movie possible about fish eating man in water had been made. The Logical step was of course to make a film about a beach that eats people.. Well, it's something in the beach that is very hungry, not the beach in itself, but you have some great moments in B-Cinerama with the bloodiest of beaches Blood Beach
