simple but sharp everything inside is so real and surprised is this the real China?

Disturbing and sick! Corrupt people to allow this kind of things to happen and the 'crazy' mentality of the older generation to ensure the women are pregnant ! Sick!! But very touching esp the end!!

Disturbing and sad. Well done, but an almost hopeless story. I couldn't decide if I felt bad at all for the villagers, it was very real..I decided by the end however, that they were just plain barbaric. So sad that this stuff really happens.

An interesting story though, it is less morally ambiguous, and thus, less penetrating than Yang's previous Blind Shaft. The whole story revolves around the theme of a pathetic woman kinapped by a group of salvage rural people tries all means to escape, between the innocent and the corrupted. How about the woman is finally unwilling to leave because of her child? How about more sympathetic characterization of these rural people? Both ways will enhance the textual richness and humanitarian complicatedness to the film.

Shocking but you wouldn't be surprise that this kind of matter can really happen in China. Watch this with Director Yang Li's early work "Blind Shaft", you learn more about the dark side of the developing China. (Watch on DVD)
