I rewatched Blade tonight. Compared to every cookie cutter comic book movie made in the last decade, this movie is practically Oscar worthy. A decent backstory, great action, and a plot that actually has some originality. Blade kicks ass and takes names in this action classic.

Still is one of my favorite superhero movies. Some of my friends don't like it because it doesn't really reflect the atmosphere of most vampire-based movies, but this one was based on a *superhero comic* and that is how the movie expresses itself. If you approach it as an action-superhero movie, it does very well. :)

The first time I saw Blade, he was featured in the animated Spider-Man series from the 90s. After seeing him in his first movie, I quickly got into the comics and haven't stopped collecting them since. Blade is my kind of African-American superhero since Spawn, Steel, and the Meteor Man premiered in theaters. It's cool, exciting, and of course, bloody. You'll love it! Once you see Blade, you'll never look at vampire movies the same way again.
