A very fine, engrossing film centered around a totally convincing, astonishing performance by Nicole Kidman as Lucy Ricardo. Javier Bardem is also wonderful as her husband Ricky and both are surrounded by a fine group of actors in supporting (but far from minor) roles.

A better director would have improved its flaws, or maybe pushed Sorkin to go through some of the elements and refashion them. "Being the Ricardos" needed a different voice; the one here profoundly, obstinately refuses to grasp the inner workings of the comic mind.

Really enjoyed it. Went in feeling like Nicole Kidman was totally miscast but she absolutely blew me away. Wish she would be in more stuff like this.

While Sorkin, Kidman and Bardem breathe life into these sitcom icons, their lives ultimately prove too big and too messy to fit within this film’s constraints.

Being the Ricardos is not a bad movie. It is well acted, well written and has a dynamic enough pace to keep you on track. Nevertheless, it doesn't manage to amaze the viewer at any moment, being just that, a good movie. Kidman, the best of the film.
