The documentary was pretty good, but seemed to be a little biased on the films that were not the best in the series.

Excellent documentary of history of the Planet of the Apes. It covers how the first movie came to be, the budget problems and the revolutionary makeup and the artists behind it. It goes though all 5 movies one at a time explaining the budget they had to work with, the plot being written, how they done at the box office and how the movies exploded and all kinds of merchandise was being sold to cash in on the success. Great in depth documentary they left nothing out, great addition to my Apes collection.

A stellar documentary that manages to sum up the Apes legacy (up to 1998) with plenty of facts, clips, and behind the scenes information. While most of the doc is focused on the first film, the sequels still get enough time to pace-fully explain, while shows and spinoff get briefly ran by. A great look at the franchise.

It's a good learning experience at least.

Fantastic documentary covering all five original films as well as television spinoffs, cartoon and influences in pop culture. Lots of amazing history and background into the making of the films with interviews with the actors, producers and directors of the films. Fans of the original "Apes" film series will want or maybe even NEED this in their collection.
