Forced to face the cruel side of life, a devastated, bankrupt merchant chances upon the enchanted castle of a hideous creature, the mere sight of it chills the bone to the marrow. Beautiful but lack of interaction & chemistry between Seydoux & Cassel.

While the background story was more involved than the Disney version, the love story was more disturbing. There was no change of fear to affection; only fear masquerading as love. However I still enjoyed the luscious effects and intricate set work, so I still give it decent marks.

magical film, breathtaking scenes and set pieces, beautifully shot. there's nothing much new in the way of story. typical retread. a bit of lull in the middle part, but looking at Léa Seydoux is enough to cure that boredom.

The graphics were quite terrible though the language was beautiful and the film followed the traditional storyline unknown to many due to Disney monopolizing the story line.
