I had no idea what to expect when I went to see this film.....I had not seen trailers....had never heard of it.....but this move is really an excellent film....it was dark and heartfelt at the same time.....I left the theater with questions and a feeling of longing and mystery....it was slow at moments but the slow times were worth every second......I highly recommend this movie for anyone that likes dark movies and dramatic movies......the cast was amazing......this is a movie that I will most likely purchase on DVD to share with my friends!

The relationship has the air of a reckless teen romance, but this is no Romeo and Juliet story. This is more like Snow White running off with one of the huntsmen. Although fairy tales abide by a strict sense of good vs. evil, what we have here is a configuration that’s a bit more muddled.

The film's outcomes are never framed, at least for the audience, in terms of morality. What Beast asks us is to consider whether or not there's light to be found in darkness -- and vice versa.

Not my typical "go to see" film but it certainly had me riveted trying to work out the possible ending scenario.

It's both intoxicating and claustrophobic-a swirling vortex of desire and denial that exposes the wildness behind our most controlled exteriors.
