Gondry has merely used the plot to celebrate community, friendship, love, creativity, making something out of nothing and the power of myth to sometimes be greater than truth.

Two young men, in order to save a small video rental store, remake amateur versions of famous films to rent out after the real tapes become de-magnetised. Not as mind bending or ambitious as other works by Gondry, but it's entertaining and one cannot help being impressed by the visual bag of tricks.

BE KIND REWIND... a hysterical art film that will make you "Rolling On the Floor Laughing" with its funny antics, corny but clever movie tricks and idiocy. The "Sweded" idea is hilarious, completely original and brilliant! A great flick to check out!
