Battleship (2012)

When mankind beams a radio signal into space, a reply comes from 'Planet G', in the form of several alien crafts that splash down in the waters off Hawaii. Lieutenant Alex Hopper is a weapons officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones, part of an international naval coalition which becomes the world's last hope for survival as they engage the hostile alien force of unimaginable strength. While taking on the invaders, Hopper must also try to live up to the potential that his brother, and his fiancée's father—an Admiral—expect of him.

I just don't get you so called critics. Why would anyone rate a BOOORING movie (Interstellar, Shutter Island, Holmes etc) higher than a full-effects movie like this one? The main reason Battleship didn't make it was because it was released during the same period as the first Avengers movie and people went for the superhero genre. At least Transformers are still going on and Pacific Rim. If I had the budget, I'd give it for a Battleship sequel and order a few hitmen on you unsatisfied "geniuses" because you are pests in the entertainment industry.

I was actually very surprised at how much I liked this movie. The acting wasn't cheesy and the plot had a nice balance for an action movie.

This movie was enjoyable to watch and it was epic... Seeing Taylor Kitsch as a Navy seal was pretty cool. My favorite part was the final battle. Even though it felt like Michael Bay's Transformers in a new generation.

I don't listen to the "critics". the movies they rate poorly are good and the movies they rate highly generally suck. this movie was entertaining. plus I thought the use of a real vet was simply remarkable and rare.
