Seven years after the death of his wife, widower Shigeharu seeks advice on how to find a new wife from a colleague. Taking advantage of their position as a film company, they stage an audition. Interviewing a series of women, Shigeharu is enchanted by the quiet Asami. But soon things take a twisted turn as Asami isn't what she seems to be.

A perfect build-up leads to a truly disturbing climax. Everything you've heard about it is true. If you rate movies by how much they make you want to vomit, this is a perfect 10/10.

Still one of the best horror movies ever made, and one of the best movies about misogyny ever made. I think we can safely say that it is the best horror movie ever made about misogyny.

Je me souviens qu'à mon premier visionnement, je ne m'attend absolument à rien de ce film. Je ne savais même pas de quoi ça allait avoir l'air! Puis, ça été un coup de foudre. J'adore la réalisation de Takashi Miike, elle est incroyable! Sans parler des dernières 20 minutes du film..
