Arthur Christmas (2011)

For hundreds of years, the Claus family has delegated the title "Santa" to a chosen few of its members, which can be passed down upon retirement. Each Christmas, Santa and his vast army of highly trained elves produce gifts and distribute them around the world in a one-night high-tech operation. However, when one of 600 million children to receive a gift from Santa on Christmas Eve is missed, it is deemed 'acceptable' to all but one—Arthur Claus, the current Santa's misfit son deemed ineligible for the title, who executes an unauthorised rookie mission to get the last present halfway around the globe before dawn on Christmas morning.

One of the best animated movies ever made. Completely original, filled with fun and laughter and one of the most impressive concepts to date. Beautiful storytelling filled with such colorful characters and takes you on an adventure you never want to end.

Made me laugh more than I"d ever thought I'd laugh watching it. A great film to watch for Christmas; filled with some great life lessons. It's definitely a modern classic.

In a world in which Santa is a title rather than a person and most of the traditional gift-delivering methods have been replaced with modern technology, the current Santa's youngest son, Arthur (James McAvoy) finds out that due to a glitch, one child's present hasn't been delivered. With only hours to spare, Arthur teams up with his Grandsanta (Bill Nighy) and Bryony (Ashley Jensen) an overexcitable Elf from the wrapping division, to take the old sleigh out one more time, in order to get the gift delivered on time... Arthur Christmas, being Aardman Animations first CGI feature that doesn't use the traditional Nick Park character designs, not only manages to maintain the studio's iconic British wit and humour from their other projects, but it's terrific voice-acting, heartwarming lessons about trying to use the best elements of the new and old ways to make the perfect Christmas and it's tightly paced plot, makes this one of the best modern Christmas films out there.

One of the best CG-animated movies ever. Funny and heartwarming, if you have not seen this movie you should definitely give it a try. You will not be disappointed.
