This tart, sexually frank portrait of a disintegrating relationship — and its long, bitter aftermath — packs plenty of punch in its best scenes, but it also frequently tests audience patience with its relentless deadpan affectlessness and insistence on leaving no Brooklyn cliche unmined.

One of those films that is more hip than you are and likes to remind you of it, where everyone talks in a witty monotone as if they were robots built by Diablo Cody. BONUS: If you watch with captions, at one point "(zombie flatulence)" will be a thing.

A new twist on the coming out story with an Iranian Lesbian and her strict family. This was fun sassy brave and intelligent and a must for all the fans of Girls as it reminded me of this a lot. The writer director and star is a major new find

Ignorance may be bliss for Shirin since knowledge of what's going on only seems to create more anxiety, yet Akhavan is quite savvy both in playing her and writing her, following certain well-worn story tropes just to upend them.
