This beautiful gem is up there with The Fifth Element and Serenity when it comes to Sci-Fi action. John Woo's talent of creating fantastic action scenes is one of the many elements of this movie I loved. The last Appleseed movie they made wasn't bad from an action standpoint, but it was forgettable. I couldn't see a believable relationship between the girl and the bioroid, but in this installment, I felt like they genuinely loved each other... which is hard for me to believe already since they are animated. To be blunt, this movie just looks beautiful. I hope John Woo continues to produce these movies. In fact, I would love to see a Hollywood production like Appleseed: Ex Machina! See this movie!

This is a good sequel to the huge succsess of the first film. In this one we have Deunan Newt and her lover Briareos continue to work for E-Swat and protect the human utopia of Olympus. In this one there seems to be terrorist activity affecting anyone who uses electronics or people who are cyborgs or have cybernetic parts in them. When these people start attacking other humans it becomes a huge issue. Things take a huge turn for the worst when Briareos gets infected by whatever is causing this. It will be up to Deunan Newt and Briareos to help stop this calamity before it destroys the entire world. Good action, good plot even though not as engaging as the first to me, and with a new CGI realistic animation style, this is a sequel worth seeing if you've seen the first movie. 9 out of 10.

Maybe storyline is not good as the first Appleseed movie. Definitely animation is better. John Woo touch is all around the film. What's the matter with pigeons in most scenes?

Amazing! Beautiful CGI, story and action. Lots of signature John Woo stuff. I wasn't a total fan of the Appleseed series but this movie also brings you up to speed very well. Highly recommended for the anime fans.
