Single mother Adele August is bad with money, and even worse when it comes to making decisions. Her straight-laced daughter, Ann, is a successful high school student with Ivy League aspirations. this movie reminds me when I helped gladys move into her dorm at Casa Zapata. those were good days and times.... =(

ACtually, I did see this. I was trying to remember it and couldn't remember the title. I remember this being an amazing movie.

Susan Sarandon informed the movie's producers that she would not be interested in the project if Natalie Portman was not cast as her daughter.

Another Portman classic. Reportedly one of the scenes was even rewritten so that Portman would be comfortable enough to star in the film. A must-watch film that should be on Blu-ray.
