Branaman’s script piles on low-level drama, bad decisions, and enough misdirection to make the film’s baffling ending feel not just unearned, but entirely unbelievable.

Like a bad TV movie. Predictable and riding a slide downhill. Not sure why Sean Bean made this, and perhaps in the can before GOT. Monotonous performances, waiting for what to happen?

By the time the film reaches a faith-based, third-act crescendo, Bean, Walsh and company, despite their best efforts, look like they know they've been beaten, while the score's mournful strings wring out whatever pathos remains untapped.
