Like most of the video nasty list it all sounds a lot worse than it actually is and if there was no list then this would have vanished into obscurity along with most 80s video horror. The gut munching and general bloody scenes are very average and the famous foetus eating scene is not that graphic but quite sick as an idea.

this is a creepy movie by joe D'Amato. the make-up on the killer is cheesy buy effective and the effects are pretty good especially the famous fetus scene. This movie would've gotten 4 stars from me if it wasnt for one problem. ITS TOO SLOW. it drags along so much that i got bored halfway through the movie. i think i actually stopped watching it and finished it later. if you can handle its pacing problems its actually pretty good.

Awful video nasty which was banned in the UK for years until recently. The only reason it is so maligned for so many years was the foetus eating scene. But hey, if youâ??ve seen one foetus eating scene, youâ??ve seen them all. The narrative is senseless, the acting abysmal and direction directionless.

this is one of the infamous video nasties that everyone was so sickened by. when i watched it, i went in expecting to be grossed out by it, but when it finished, i was quite disappointed to say the least. the gore was in little quantities and when it came, it was not much at all. even the "sickness-inducing" fetus-eating scene wasn't all it was cracked up to be. all in all, i was disappointed and hope that i enjoy other italian horror movies. if you want some truly graphic stuff, check out cannibal holocaust or the evil dead, or go as far as watching the zombie gore/comedy braindead by peter jackson.
