A God-awful waste of time. I really can't believe just how undeniably dull 90% of this film is. The most gruesome and notorious moment comes at the end when the monster rips out and eats a fetus. The rest in comparison is tame and boring. Absurd (aka Horrible) is a sort of sequel - both made by the same director and actor.

i think i must've seen the cut version which can't have helped my rating. i don't remember anyone getting their fetus eaten or anything that sickeningly funny? what i do remember from last nights viewing was that watching this film keeps you tense almost from start to finish. so it does its job! i liked the idea of the blind girl being able to smell the evil one when he's near. the italians did a few cheap cannibal flicks back in the day and this one aint too bad

Awful video nasty which was banned in the UK for years until recently. The only reason it is so maligned for so many years was the foetus eating scene. But hey, if youâ??ve seen one foetus eating scene, youâ??ve seen them all. The narrative is senseless, the acting abysmal and direction directionless.

Like most of the video nasty list it all sounds a lot worse than it actually is and if there was no list then this would have vanished into obscurity along with most 80s video horror. The gut munching and general bloody scenes are very average and the famous foetus eating scene is not that graphic but quite sick as an idea.

I've been after this nasty piece of meat for ages, and I happened to find a cheap, really nice Italian version at a Sci-fi convention in Gothenburg! Low-buget as hell, but so atmospheric, gory and crazed that I can't help but to love it! The gruesome killer, the weird electronic soundtrack, the discovered bodies decomposing everywhere... And Tisa Farrow! Joe D'Amato can make great movies, so it's sad his career is so unstable.
