I found it quite entertaining, a little lame in parts but still funny. Interesting idea about zombies in general as well.

This movie was a very interesting mockumentary. It takes a look at the life of zombies in the society today and what they have to live with. Will the film take an interesting turn or stay true? Check this film out to see. For the most part I found it very entertaining with some little funny references to zombie habits. The camera they used in the day time was pretty good, but the one they use at night is very annoying to the point where I had to remove a star. The cast was very good to decent at some parts. Pretty nice piece of work.

Whilst making a documentary, group of filmakers travel around Los Angeles and interview various members of the zombie population. I am quite a lover of the cinema verite 'mokumentary' style of movie making, and when you add in zombies, it is bound to make me interested. What you get with 'American Zombie' is a good little low budget movie that starts off with a lot of humour and slowly gets darker as it progresses. It completely changes tone in the last 30 minutes, and becomes more of a traditional movie, which does detract a little. The idea of walking and talking zombies will not be to everyone's taste, but I found it a refreshing change that was handled incredibly well. All in all, a fun little movie, and if you are looking for a different take on the tired zombie genre, then you should definately check it out.

Great idea, but executed with a specific, somewhat unenticing agenda. Not funny, not scary, not terrifically inventive. Which is not to say bad. Adequate as a critique of pitfalls of documentary making.

So much wasted potential here. It's a mockumentary about real life zombies and how they go through every day life. So much could have been done with this but instead it's just 90 minutes of really bad jokes about zombie sex lives and how lazy they are. It has it's moments but they aren't worth sitting through the rest of it for.
